How to choose the right size dilator

The reasons why you are using dilators (i.e your specific concern) and your goals for treatment will both have an impact on what size dilator you start with.

For example, if you are currently not able to comfortably use a tampon or insert one finger into the vagina, then our small set or full set of dilators might be most appropriate.

If you are comfortably able to use a tampon or insert a finger into the vagina, but using a sex toy or having penetrative intercourse with a partner is painful, then our medium, progressive, or full set might be most appropriate.

If you have had comfortable penetrative sex in the past but you are with a new partner that has a larger penis size and this is uncomfortable then the large set of BIEN Silicone Vaginal Dilators might be most appropriate.

To ensure the best possible outcomes, we recommended that you obtain an individual assessment with a pelvic floor physiotherapist.

*Note: dilator therapy works best when paired with a holistic approach to pelvic pain.
